Tragically disappointed. I think when you allow a movie to be a classic in your head without ever seeing it, once you finally get around to it you're almost always going to be at least slightly disappointed. Cary Grant was a major reason I didn't enjoy this as much as I should have enjoyed a Hitchcock film. His constant smarmy misogynistic jokes and lackadaisical attitude made a film that is supposed to exude suspense feel like an overly long chase scene in a Warner Brothers cartoon. I was also very confused as to why they mistook him for the FBI agent (a friend explained that apparently it's easily missed in the restaurant scene, I'll have to give it a second viewing). I also didn't care for the rather abrupt ending and multiple explanation scenes.
