Django Unchained 2012
I have always been a firm supporter of Quentin Tarantino, I love his work. I make sure to see his films as soon as they are released in the cinema and I did so today, the opening day here in Norway. I can not tell if I have changed as an audience member or, if, this film just is not as strong as his previous works. I still enjoyed it greatly but it fell short of my Tarantino-level expectations in…

The Avengers 2012
On Friday I entered into a Marvel state of mind and remained there the entire weekend as I watched Captain America, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk and, finally, Thor in anticipation of The Avengers which I watched this evening. I don't like to think of the rating as 1 to 5 stars, it's on a scale of 1 to FUN!! Entering the Marvel universe this past weekend was a great idea because all of the heroes and…

The Dark Knight Rises 2012
This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Looper 2012
I want so desperately to shake anyone into oblivion who has rated Looper less than [a super] low three stars, but I need to just accept it as perception and if everyone loved all of the same films, then the world would be a very boring place, right? Bullshit, but ideal, I suppose. I just find it almost strange that so many people loved Django Unchained but found this almost average or with "flaws", when for me, it was the…

Silver Linings Playbook 2012
On Halloween night Pat and Tiffany were in front of a movie theater which was playing Midnight Meat Train, this is significant because Bradley Cooper starred in it back in 2008. That is the most interesting thing I noticed and have to say about Silver Linings Playbook.
The film was decent, Cooper and Lawrence were pretty good. Was I blown away by their performances and the story? Not really. I did not have any strong reaction either way, whether it…

Prometheus 2012
The ratings of Prometheus are really all over the place, especially from people who have opinions in which I value and respect. There's really nothing I find more intriguing than that, honestly. I think the one thing almost everyone can agree on is that Michael Fassbender as, the film-loving android, David really stole the show. He was the most believable character and he wasn't even supposed to be human. The one character I had the hardest time with was "digesting"…

Moonrise Kingdom 2012
Wes Anderson's style is as vibrant as ever.
It was really great to see a lack of Wilson brothers and the inclusion of Edward Norton. Norton in an Anderson film is just perfect, he really shines in films of this nature. It was also great to see Bruce Willis cast against type. He really stepped out of his comfort zone and took a risk to great success. The entire ensemble was just brilliantly cast. Also: TILDA SWINTON ♥
No matter…

The Cabin in the Woods 2012
I have waited so long to watch Cabin in the Woods, it was a real struggle to wait for it to be released on bluray and to not read a single thing about it, but somehow I managed. I knew that people really liked it but that's it, I had no idea what it was about or what it was about The Cabin in the Woods that they liked so much.
I'm pretty confident in saying this isn't one of…

The Hunger Games 2012
During my flight from Norway to North America I had to find a movie to watch while I wasn't going in and out of a Dramamine coma and I decided on The Hunger Games.
I wanted to prove myself wrong, that despite the hype I was going to see past it and like this movie and I did, I kinda liked it, in a sense that I didn't fall asleep and I didn't stop watching it.
I can see why…

The Amazing Spider-Man 2012
There are many times where my husband has to practically beg me, trick me or forcibly movie-rape me to get me to watch something. It wasn't quite as bad in this case but I just really wasn't feeling the idea of watching The Amazing Spider-Man. I don't know why I get like this but I do and often I wonder if it's a good thing because then I end up leaving the theater really, really impressed. It's almost never as…

Batman Begins 2005
It's only right that Batman is my favorite superhero. I've always had an unexplained fascination with the darker, more morbid things in life and a man dressed as a nocturnal creature, in a dark, dank city named Gotham and some of the most interesting and scary villains makes it all that much more appealing to me. Sure having a super-human/supernatural power is more interesting than having loads of money but the atmosphere, villains and backstory of Batman more than make…

Ted 2012
This was the first of two movies I watched on the flight home to Norway and what a bad choice on my part. I should have known that I wouldn't care for it because I'm not too fond of Family Guy and Ted is a Rhode Island family away from being a live action adaptation (complete with pop culture references). Seth MacFarlane even used most of the voice actors from the show as main actors in the film. There's even…
