John Turturro is amazing.
John Goodman is fantastic.
The satire is so thick and the visual flair so deliberate, it amazes me that this was the Coen brothers 4th feature film.
Honestly... how the fuck have I not seen this film before? It's been sitting in my DVD collection for 4 bloody years!
I will stop short of saying Barton Fink is a masterpiece because A: That's a really wanky thing to say and B: It isn't.
It is (however), a truly incredible work of cinema.
The titular character is a tragically naive artist. A complete arsehole basically. But a complete arsehole that you grow to appreciate.
This ain't going to be the most descriptive review from me but I think I've blown smoke up it's arse long enough.
Barton Fink is a masterpie... fuck it... it's a very accomplished film
(But I still prefer Blood Simple).
