A truly fascinating and deeply harrowing film. It's so rare to find a lean film these days, and at 95 minutes The Counterfeiters has absolutely no "filler". The screenplay and overall pace are excellent and the lead actors are superb. My one quibble would be the horrible score which seems to have come from an entirely different film altogether.
Films which touch upon the Nazi atrocities are difficult to recommend. The human horror of a film such as this or the similarly themed The Pianist are there to remind us of the evils men can do.
