If you could only take 1 film with you to watch whilst stranded on a desert island, what would it be?
It can be a guilty pleasure.
It might not even be your "all time favourite" film.
Some cleverdick/ masochist is bound to pick Castaway.

I'll start with Star Wars: A New Hope because it's great escapism innit

I love everything about The Burbs, and Tom Hanks is brilliant in it it has to be said.

Yep, I agree with Splash and The Money Pit. He is also excellent in Dragnet and Road To Perdition!!.
Tom Hanks is excellent most of the time (although he is generally Tom Hanks) - his films though, often fall well short.
Fight Club! Can't get enough of that film.

As for the Tom Hanks thing... I'm not a big fan of modern Tom Hanks. Dragnet was cool as well. Not a fan of Forrest Gump or Green Mile or Snore To Perdition.
Maybe the birds by Hitchcock, I may be stranded on an island but at least i'm not getting pecked alive a pigeon.
