Plot so simple it's confusing. But damn, these dudes can do some serious jump kicks.

Miami Connection is not set in Miami. It's in Orlando. And the one of the least-odd details about this looney action movie pitting ninja motorcycle druglords vs. a taekwondo college synth-pop band.

This movie will put a lot of viewers to sleep. But forget that crowd – Meek's Cutoff portrays a slow, steady and hard grind through the Oregon Trail that feels real.

Most of the actors give great performances, topped by Bruce Greenwood as the misguided guide Stephen Meek.

This movie reminds me a lot of Broken Flowers, the Jim Jarmusch film starring Bill Murray. If you didn't appreciate how that one turned out, you probably won't appreciate how Meek's Cutoff turns out, either. For me, the journey in both films makes them worthwhile viewing.
