Men in Black 1997

Ian Loring’s review:
First watch of this in a good long while and it held up very well. Smith, Jones and D'Onofrio are all pretty fantastic, the mix of CG and Rick Baker created practical effects holds up very well, it's very funny and it barrels along at a fantastic pace.
Only reservations are Smith's fashion choices, the orange trousers at the beginning and the weird "cool" update of the suit right at the end, and Linda Fiorentino's performance, a woman who is never exactly dynamite on screen but appears to be bored throughout the entire thing, a problem when the one character trait she's supposed to exhibit is curiosity.
I've never seen Part 2, will be over the next week or so, but if the third installment manages to capture even half the fun of this one, it'll be worth the cinema trip.
Linda Fiorentino... a woman who is never exactly dynamite on screen?
Then you haven't seen The Last Seduction. She is a notorious pain to work with though.
I have not, I will admit but between this and Dogma I still feel safe in that opinion.
Fiorentino is one of those actors that has one great role/performance in them (Last Seduction).
See also Michael Madsen, Lorraine Bracco, Mira Sorvino...
Come on now, Madsen in Kill Bill Vol 2? "Wakey wakey, eggs and bac-ey". That's fucking gold.
