This is a beautiful adaptation of the book effectively dealing with all the Bronte themes. I found both Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowski to be perfectly cast; there is so much conveyed in their facial expressions and gestures I was captivated. I enjoyed how Jane's story is revealed as well as the mystery of Thornfield Hall. This is a quiet film dealing with a time of repressed emotions and doing what is right. While I thought the end was a bit abrupt, it is a period movie done right.
