Ok ... so wait ... WHAT!!!??
In what I imagine is turning into Brit Marling style, I have so many questions! Not a bad thing, it's turning me into a huge fan of hers. I admire her stories and use of "reality" mixed with sci fi. What I thought I had figured out completely flipped me on my ass at the end. The acting of all characters was well done, and I found myself sitting in fright at the unknown, kind of how I was when I watched Martha Marcy May Marlene. Corniest line: "Let's call the lawyer." Really.
On the /Filmcast podcast they said that the movie was intended to be followed up by more flims/episodes/webisodes/something so all the loose ends are intended to be closed up. Also, during a Q&A, the director said all of their choices were deliberate including the strange toughbook style laptop that the one guy had. After looking back, its pretty obvious that there's much more going on than is revealed. I'm not sure if i like that or not.
Oh interesting. There's definitely much more going on than revealed, I hope we can get some more info from the planned extras. All I've been doing is reading people's theories on IMDB message boards and frankly I don't know what to think! I like a movie that keeps my mind'd attention for a little while after I've seen it. I almost want to say that the twist in this is comparable to Take Shelter's but ... not quite. Now I'll go read more about Take Shelter and buy it.
Yeah any theories right now would just be wild speculation. One thing that's for sure is that Brit Marling needs to marry me.
I thought that line was stupid too. Made me laugh.
