Jake Cole’s review:
Like Polanski's REPULSION, not just in its subject matter but in its approach to that subject. Ferrara opens the film with gruesome violations, but the repercussions from that act go well beyond mere vengeance and make the protagonist's shooting spree more abhorrent than righteous. Ferrara's stylistic direction and moral ambiguity undermine the female revenge exploitation flick by actually considering the psychic break of an abused woman the height of insane tragedy, not a symbolic triumph.
