  • Upstream Color 2013

    ★★★½ Watched 07 May, 2013

I loved loved loved the start with The Thief, and parts with the relationship were well done, but I found myself slowly losing interest as it went on. What I loved about Primer is it felt like everything you needed to know was all there, you just needed to pay attention, whereas Upstream Colour is just all too vague and muddy. That's not to say it wasn't well shot, acted or directed, just really not my thing.

  • Serenity 2005

    ★★★½ Watched 01 May, 2013 3

Had to watch it for school. Have not seen the show. Either way it was really not my kind of film at all, I thought a lot of it was really cliched and on the nose.

  • In Bruges 2008

    ★★★★★ Rewatched 27 Apr, 2013

It never ceases to amaze me how this film can have me laughing at one line, and feel like I'm gonna cry at the very next.

  • It's a Disaster 2012

    ★★★½ Watched 22 Apr, 2013

I was really surprised by this! For me, it was everything the disappointing 'Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World' should have been, with some added 'Carnage' elements thrown in. The plot is pretty simple; four couples meeting for a couples brunch get interrupted when dirty bombs are exploded around the country, and they are forced to seal themselves in the house and contemplate the fact that they all could die.

I have recently been rewatching my favourite…

  • Reign Over Me 2007

    ★★★★ Watched 11 Apr, 2013

Wow, this was a really great, touching, little movie. Adam Sandler was surprisingly excellent, although not as amazing as Punch Drunk Love, and I loved the use of Shadow Of The Colossus (which is a great game) in the film, and how the fall of these giant monsters echoed the fall of the twin towers.

  • The Collection 2012

    ★★★ Watched 30 Mar, 2013

Nothing special, but a perfectly adequate way to kill an hour and a half. I probably enjoyed it the same as I did the first, therefore it too will get 3 solid stars.

  • The Dungeon Masters 2008

It seemed a little too "Hahaha these weirdos keep trying to fit in and find a way in the world and keep failing what losers" and a little less "documentary about D&D subculture"

  • Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998

    ★★★★★ Watched 19 Mar, 2013

Holy shit. I've never seen a movie like this before, and most likely I'll never see one like Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas again. I don't even know what to say...

Johnny Depp was just awesome, his performance was amazing, and Terry Gilliam nailed it. I loved the different colours and textures the film took on too display the effects of the different drugs, and the cinematography and design of the film was just stunning all round. The tilted camera angles, to just give a small feel of disorientation at all times, was a great simple touch.

Man, I'm going to have crazy dreams tonight.

  • Oz: The Great and Powerful 2013

    ★★★ Watched 16 Mar, 2013

While definitely not Raimi's best work, or as good as the other two 'Oz' movies I have seen, Oz: The Great And Powerful is a solid high budget, big named blockbuster.

Firstly, Oz looks amazing (and I don't mean James Franco's character, although he is as smiley as always). It's big, colourful and even though it feels a little Burton-esque, it seems much more layered and lived in. All the locations, from the China Town to The Emerald City, are…

  • Return to Oz 1985

    ★★★★ Watched 16 Mar, 2013 1

Man, what a crazy movie. It seriously reached Coraline levels of fucked up kids movie imagery. Also, a fully grown, bearded man man of stone, showing off his pretty red slippers will never not be funny.

I'm seeing Oz, The Great And Powerful later today, hopefully I'll enjoy it as much as this.
