Darren Lynn Bousman's "Mother's Day" is a remake of the old Troma film of the same name only played much more straight (despite the anachronistic pop song playing during the end credits).
The film is a fun and twisty thriller that kind of loses it near the end (like most of Mr. Bousman's films)
Rebecca DeMornay is really good in her "comeback" role as "Mother", a twisted woman who raised her kids in a world vaguely similar to that of the world in "Dogtooth" (only slightly less incest-y and far more commercial).
The grown kids are now in some deep shiznit having robbed a bank, one of them getting shot and also the fact that they are holding a party hostage during a fricken' tornado warning.
The film is convoluted but fun.
