Jay Cheel’s review:
I was totally blown away by The Grey. I suspected there was a little more to it beyond "Liam Neeson punching wolves". What I got was an intense survival-thriller that on many occasions excels beyond the expectations of this sub-genre. The film is about death, and it handles this was grace and poignancy. It also has one of the best endings in a good while. A wonderful surprise that looks to be this year's 'The Descent', 'Ravenous', 'Attack the Block', etc.
Can't wait to see it. Unfortunately I have no idea when will it be released here :( Hopefully I don't have to wait for the Blu-ray.
I can't wait for LetterBoxd to give compatibility percentages between friends. I think you and I will have a pretty high percentage. It will be shit like this though that will make me scratch my head.
Good man, knew this was gonna be a lock for you to really dig, looking forward to the Film Junk review.
Gonna need a detailed account of your reaction to the plane crash sequence.
I am totally looking forward to this one. I also really want to rewatch NARC because I remember really digging it at the time.
I second the RAVENOUS comparison. There is a massively UNDERRATED little gem if there ever was one.
I really should have gone to see this opening weekend. Unlikely I'll get to it now.
I was blown away by how bad this movie was
