District 9 2009
For a long time I didn't want to see this one because it gave me a wrong impression of what it actually was. Maybe that was a good thing in the end when I finally did watch it. It caught me by surprise.

The Grey 2011
A part of me really like this movie, beautiful cinematography, engaging story that's really exiting at times and interesting characters to mention some. Yet another part of me really hated it because of the unlikeliness of things. I find the attention to details, especially surrounding the credibility of the story to be poor and it really annoyed me, small things that means so much.
Despite all this I will still recommend it.

The Tree of Life 2011
Fantastic cinematography, music, storytelling, acting and more. In many ways it also reminds me about 2001: A Space Odyssey. It does seems however that if to get the most out of this one, you have to be Christian or at least in some ways religious. I imagine if I were, that I would maybe have given it full pot or close to it. Still, I would recommend you to watch it even if you're not.

A quite enjoyable movie with a somewhat completely normal story, set in a totally unique setting, filled with humor, romance, personal insight, lovable characters, mystery, drama and more, keeping me curious from start to finish.
Did I ever tell you I was struck by lightning seven times?

The Fountain 2006
I think I am looking at it a bit different than how the movie is described. The way I look at it is as one and the same story, just from three different angles. His angle (future - when he sleep/dreams), her angle (conquistador - when she writes her diary/book), and their shared angle (now time). I even find the movie a lot more interesting watching this way. The movie goes a bit too much over the top at the…

Million Dollar Baby 2004
Jumping into this one without knowing anything about it, expecting a somewhat standardized boxing movie. Coming out at the other end overwhelmed with emotions so powerful… A must see, that personally hit me far too close to probably ever be able to watch again.
