Basic Instinct is not as fun as I remembered.

This is director Verhoeven and writer Eszterhas not cranked up to 11, like they are in Showgirls. I'd say they are at 7 here, which makes for an "objectively" better and more believable film. To be blunt, I prefer the campiness and over-the-top stupidity and bad acting of Showgirls.
