    What a great movie!

Noir mixed with social commentary (ham-fisted by today's standards) with a masterful performance by sinatra.

I am surprised that this film is not more highly regarded and discused.

The subject matter is five stars, the execution is god, but not as good as the subject matter.

The pacing and tone of this film were very odd and disjointed.

Not so much a movie as a collection of scenes.

Kind of like a scorcese film but without the humor, the kinetic energy, and the masterful dialogue and interaction.

Wow - this film is horrible. Truly, truly bad - I'm glad I waited.

Once again - like winter soldier - I am truly stunned that people actually like this movie.

Watching this movie was a very unique experience for me. Ultimately, I liked it a lot, but it took a while to get there. I'll try to explain, but it won't be adequate.

The best way that I can explain it is this: It takes a while for the plot (and the story) to catch up with the mood and the acting in the movie.

So, the first half of the movie is pretty standard "missing person" movie fare, with…

Took in a second viewing - loved it even more - gave it the full five star. That being said, if someone were to go in with sky high expectations, they'd be disappointed.

I haven't read any of the reviews, but I think the key to whether someone really likes this movie or not is the performance of Tom Hardy. If one sees it as authentic and good acting, I think that they'd really like the movie. If one sees his performance as a Sly Stalone in 'Rocky' impersonation, I'd think that they'd actively dislike it. I love his performance - I think it is award-worthy.

A nice noir exercise - a great date movie, I would think. It has the prerequisite twists and turns - though nothing really major - and a little heart thrown in to boot. I wouldn't mind a sequel.

Easily one of the least enjoyable films I have ever seen. Boring, pointless, listless, plotless, and without even the hint of dread.

Nice little matinee thriller or redbox rental. Some interesting ideas, and definitely plays off the fact that Brosnan was once Bond. What would happen if Bond became old and bitter and retired (even though the "Bond" in this film is more closely related to the current Daniel Craig interpretation), and was stripped of his glamour?
