American Graffiti 1973
This was the first time I've ever purchased pop and popcorn at a movie.
-
Army of Darkness 1993
The best movie I've seen since getting letterboxd.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes 1970
I made a mistake here. The film I actually saw was BEHIND the Planet of the Apes, a documentary about the making of the Planet of the Apes movies, but letterboxd won't let me remove this from my diary for some reason. I hated BENEATH the Planet of the Apes the first time I saw it because I was grossed out by the zombie people, spike-cage fight, etc. Now I think it's just a bad and unnecessary sequel. The documentary was pretty good though.

Day of the Dead 1985
This is a good zombie movie! The acting is not the greatest, but the effects are pretty cool, and it even gives you some interesting ideas to chew over.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 2004
The only thing I didn't like about this movie was the title.
-
Father of the Bride 1991
Not really my cup of bride.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation 2013
A truly terrible disappointment that did not live up to its Power Rangers-ish predecessor. There are only two good sequences in the whole movie, for which I awarded it two stars.

Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah 1998
Entertaining from start to finish, and chuck full of great quotes, this is one Godzilla movie that you don't need to fast forward through. Much like the 2009 Star Trek movie, it cleverly establishes an alternate timeline in which the original dinosaur that Godzilla was created from is teleported to the present day, erasing him from history. Then, scientists create a new Godzilla by shooting nuclear missiles at the dinosaur, although I don't know how they even remembered who Godzilla was if he never existed in the first place. Also, as a bonus Easter egg, you even get to see the origin of filmmaker Steven Spielberg!

Iron Man 3 2013
Unlike "To the Wonder," Iron Man Three was not at all what I had been expecting! The trailers for this movie were purposefully misleading, and I like that. I'm glad Iron Man 3 didn't just turn out to be a Dark Knight ripoff, but I also wish the story had been a little more straightforward. The jokes are basically just people saying, "Yeah, I'm in a superhero movie. Pretty much!" It's the same obnoxious sense of humor that characterizes all…
