Hysterical zombie voice-over!
A romance that isn't Twilight icky!

Impressive first script by Zoe Kazan. The excellent chemistry between real-life couple Kazan and Dano make this easy to watch. Though a rom-com, it is also a cautionary tale.

This had no business being as as enjoyable as it was. Anna Kendricks carries this movie - she is charming. The songs are all sung in the context of part of competitions or practices. No one breaks into song a'la Glee, which is refreshing. (I could have done without all the barf.)

I am afraid I can not recommend this film.

The performances are good for what they are but the script is empty. Emmanuella Riva is very convincing as a stroke victim (although I was confused as to why her speech was unaffected after her initial stroke that severely affected the right side of her body.)

But where was the "Amour" in this film? It was all so detached and emotional cold. There was too little tenderness between husband and wife; daughter and parents. Having recently dealt with similar situations in my life this felt unrealistic and like an big arthouse-film wank.

It is a bright late summer day in Oslo as we following recovering addict, Anders, around the city where he tries to reconnect with old friends and his family and find his place in the world.
A haunting, quiet film.

Impressive special effects, but with wooden acting and jokes that fall flat. It quickly becomes boring.

Jack Black's performance is like nothing he has done before. For any Jack Black fan this is a 'must see'.

On top of that it is an amusing little film - a black comedy, but never mean spirited. Looses steam in the third act.

Mad Mikkelsen give an incredible, brilliant performance as a teacher falsely accused of child molestation.

A charming comedy of mistaken identity with great performances. Well worth seeking out.

Upon a second viewing I am increasing the rating.
I watched it in 3-D IMAX and it is even more stunning as it gives the film more visual depth - truly beautiful!

Also didn't purposefully pick out all the nods to the previous Alien film and just took this as a stand-alone film and it worked better for me.

The cast and script are perfect. This is a family favorite.
