Get the Gringo is fun, silly, satisfying and it has Mel Gibson! He's not actually as batshit as I was expecting, so don't go getting your hopes up for some Lethal Weapon insanity. That said, he does a good gruff anti-hero, and the film actually has enough charm to make the gritty stuff tolerable. It's a cheap trick, but having a lovable kid character in danger is a sure fire way of tugging at your heart strings and amping up the tension.

p.s. it's set in a prison. I didn't know this from the trailer, so if a prison film is what you're after then you'll have a ball. If, like me, you were expecting a traditional heist film, you're in for a surprise.
