Rent 2005

Fraser Mckissack’s review:
I'm partial to a good musical and I like to think I've seen a few in my time, both modern and classic. This has to be the worst. Woeful. Rent tries so hard to be hip, edgy and relevant that it ultimately comes across as forced and aggravating. The songs are forgettable and weak, the characters are throw away stereotypes, the only surprise in this miserable heap is Rosario Dawson. Believe it or not, the piss-take of Rent offered in the film Team America is far more memorable than this.
