This, for me, is a period piece: it capsulizes how the year 2011 was foreseen in the time this was made. The way the story's told is poetic, and you need to dig in deep to experience its beauty.
It's awfully long though. (Perhaps it worked for the generation back then, but now it's a tough sell; what with diminishing attention spans!)
Inception's a great movie for those who like to think and analyze story timelines. At the time this was released it used a different kind of storytelling by being original and by trying to engage the audience to think and look beyond the dialogue. In short, this one's not for the faint of heart. Try to appreciate it's beauty contextually and you'll agree that this deserved to be called one of the greatest films so far.
This film was released way before I was born, but it hit the right tones within me.
For the tech person this is a treat, but I don't recommend this to those who are looking for a quick movie fix: this one needs to be understood to appreciate its beauty.
Plus points if you're into the film-making thing, as you'll appreciate the wonderful skill and resourcefulness they put into this film.
