The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 2011 ★★★

David Fincher sounded like the perfect director for this movie, and don't get me wrong, it's a great blockbuster. But I keep asking myself the question; Why?

Why, do you make a re-make that's almost identical, frame by frame? I just don't see the point then. English people can surely read subtitles too.

I read that he had added and removed some bits and pieces, and changed the story a bit. But where is that? Sure it focus more on the characters and the love story between Blomqvist and Salander, but is that all? Maybe it was my high expectations that in the end, let me down a bit, I still think they could've made more out of it, especially with their budget.

The chemistry between Daniel Craig & Rooney Mara is far better (and much more realistic) than between Mikael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace. Mr Bond is better than Nyqvist, but I prefer Rapace way over Mara.

The dark music of Trent Reznor (NIN) fits like a hand in glove.

Overall it's a very enjoyable movie — But it's 30 min too long.

  • Agree with this! If you have seen the swedish version this is just a waste of time. Also the swedish-english accents annoys me.

The title sequence (intro) doesn’t fit in at all and some of the shoots especially in the beginning of the movie is out of focus.
