Getting into election spirit, I watched this movie last night. Lots to think about...this is a movie that didn't really know who its audience was. It tried to deliver a smart modern fable of unfulfilled ambition, misplaced anger and ironic misfortune. But it also threw in some blunt sexuality and dark humour to attract "American Pie" crowd. The combination may leave both audiences annoyed--one for the sophomoric humour (awkward sex like you've never seen) and the other for its preachiness (the ending will drive you crazy). It's too bad, really. The acting is phenomenal, though. Especially Reese Witherspoon.
