Sneakers 1992 ★★★★★

Rewatched Mar 25, 2012

Two UK TV channels are showing this at the same time; very odd. Perfect opportunity to revisit one of my all-time favourite movies, one that fits into my perfect movie subset. Terrific performances, fantastic tragic villain (with Sir Ben Kingsley on fire, his small role dominating the movie), expertly judged breezy tone, James Horner's best non-Aliens/Khan soundtrack, and a plot that seems prescient in the information age. I couldn't love it more. I note that I gave this four and a half stars before. What was I thinking? Full five, for sheer lovable awesomeness. In a perfect world this generated 15 sequels, all of them great.

  • Agree 100% John - LOVE this movie - it's just brilliant and a joy to watch (shall review it myself eventually!). Oh and thanks for giving props to Horner's - definitely one of my favourites.
