I must admit to being apprehensive about a spin-off film of the Minions, for while they are lovable and hilarious in the Despicable Me films, I felt that they stole a little bit too much of the limelight away from the other characters in the second one. Here at least they are centre stage but given that their communication is limited to gibberish and they are largely stupid, the plot has an almost accidental feel once it truly kicks in.…

A criticism that is often levelled at horror is that even if the scares are reasonably effective, you should care for the protagonists and this is often not the case.
