Jonathan Edney’s review published on Letterboxd:
Although its narrative strands are tied together a bit too neatly, this is still an engaging film thanks to its performances. Kevin Kline shares an unusual dynamic with Hayden Christensen that is often quite funny in the disparities between the pair but also allows for some emotional scenes that prove Christensen can deliver when given better dialogue to work with (and he has the stroppy teenager act down pat, hence why he was cast in Star Wars in the first place). The metaphors are fairly obvious even without a voice over deciding to spell it out but it still makes for an emotional watch.
