Tight, solid and watchable. A perspective on the financial crisis most movies probably won’t take.

I did not have high hopes, but far better than I expected. The more sardonic take on the Spider-Man character was welcome. The CGI pure action sequences as with most of these superhero movies were best when mostly ignored in the background.

I loved every individual moment of this visually, but there was something in the whole that lagged pacing-wise. There was a lot of world-setting and character-defining work to do, but each of these pieces seemed to happen in fits and starts. That said, perhaps this fitfulness makes eventual momentum of the last section that much more compelling in contrast.
