Kelly Reichardt's (Meek's Cutoff; Wendy and Lucy) directorial debut is a story about loneliness. This film is very deadpan and reminded me somewhat of the work of Jim Jarmusch during certain moments. I personally enjoyed it. I thought it was funny and I thought the characters were very interesting.
River of Grass is very deadpan and minimalistic, if you don't enjoy movies that move at a slow pace, then you will want to pass on this one.
