Josh Franks’s review:
A promising first half descends into an utterly directionless, disengaging borefest that goes well into 'sad for the sake of being sad' territory. Unfocused storyline, unnecessary subplots and shallow characterisation let it down. Saved if only by great performances by the two leads. I expected (and have seen) much better from Audiard.
