JuanCostrada’s review:
An ultimate spoof, that is nearly a gag a second, and focuses on a part of life that is familiar. It is mostly a visual gag affair and thankfully devoid from popculture. However I will have to Gene Shalit this, and say I was not along for the ride.
The Reverence: A jelly reference that goes frontal beats Hong’s moustache.
You just don't like comedy!
You are certainly correct. Being the Jocular side of Nicostra, I don’t like comedy. I love comedy! I think a listing of our top ten comedies is required. We might need to set some ground rules on what can be included. Comedies of the laugh variety?
Actually the film seems popculture heavy that I initially realised.
The list is a good idea.
If you use laughter as criteria for comedy, then Prometheus, Precious and the Matrix would be included!
I think its safe to say we know what a comedy is. Within comedy there is a big variety in subject (eg. rom-com, satire, black, screwball, farce...) and degree of absurdity too, things will get tricky if you want to focus it on a particular type of comedy though!
I'd say it would have to relate to overt legitimate laughs. Your ability to name varieties of comedies is commendable.
OK, lets see these lists then!
