"Inspired by real events in 2008 where 18 high school students took part in a supposed “pregnancy pact”, Delphine and Muriel Coulin’s drama-comedy 17 Girls (17 filles) offers a highly stylised yet languidly paced portrayal of the waywardness of headstrong teenagers. Despite being based on a true story, the film is an unconvincing and superficial approach to adolescence, and often an empty experience..."
