What can one say about this film, other than it is Ledger's performance that stands out as a masterpiece of the psychotic mind.

One of Hitchcock's masterpieces. This film has inspired numerous in-depth analysis and studies of the techniques used by the director. Although many themes are found, the symbol which predominates the entire movie is: "it's all an illusion." Perhaps Hitchcock's most autobiographical.

Hitchcock's best. Who will ever see an empty shower as just a shower after seeing movie?

A fine rendition of Stephen KIng's novel. Kathy Bates, as Annie Wilkes, is wonderful as the psychotic, often amusing, nurse who tortures her hero writer, Paul Sheldon (James Caan). Caan plays the helpless victim so well that one can't help but cringe every time that Wilkes enters his room, wondering if he can outwit this nurse from hell.
