The Act of Killing 2012
From Jennifer Merin's exceptional review, one of the many problems I had with this film... "This representation of genocide -- from the perpetrators skewed and heinous point of view -- has no connection to and gives no suggestion of the agony suffered by the Indonesian people. The film -- as well as the characters it follows -- shows a horrifying lack of regard for that suffering. It is, put simply, disrespectful."
I did not believe (or care about) Congo's "transformation." Are people reviewing the film or the filmmakers intent? I'm baffled by the praise being heaped on this thing.
