"the ides of march" is an ambitious movie and could've been great, but it's just solid. ryan gosling and george clooney did deliver good performances, the directing was good, but the story lacks of surprises and boldness. i was a bit disappointed by gosling's acting, because he can act better than just having a stern look on his face and wearing suits.
