Dragonslayer 2011
I have a weird obsession with skateboarding documentary. I watch all of them and pretty much love all of them, so when this popped up on the documentary channel, I was pretty stoked. Too bad this is an absolute mess of a documentary and even the skating is subpar.

Iron Man 3 2013
There was enough Shane Black shining through this movie to make me like it more than I ever expected I would. It was darker in a good way; not in the annoying, brooding way, but in the humorous way that I enjoy.
It started slow and kind of painful, but once things got rolling and we got into more of the meat of the story, including more of the Mandarin (Kingsley was freaking amazing) it became a lot of fun.…

The Hunger Games 2012
I should say this movie is probably not meant for me; it is meant for those who read and loved the books. That said, wow, what a piece of shit this was and it's a complete failure as a film for those of us who have not read the books. I'm nearly four full days removed from experiencing this film and I'm not sure I'm any closer to unravelling what it's all about. To me it was a film about shared experiences and relationships; where do our memories come from and are they our own? The images in the film and the questions it implanted in my brain have remained with me since I left the cinema; I don't think I will be rid of them any time soon.
