Len Fearnside’s review published on Letterboxd:
Brian De Palma's classic take on Antonioni's Blow-up with John Travolta as a movie sound guy who is the earwitness to a car crash of a famous politician and becomes embroiled in all kinds of nasty stuff as a result. I liked this quite a bit, particularly the first half to two-thirds where the mystery is building and we are spending a lot of time with Travolta piecing the mystery together slowly and meticulously by using the various sound and film equipment around him (freaking loved that stuff). It was also cool to see a youngish John Lithgow and a skinnyish Dennis Franz in significant parts. It gets a bit too silly near the very end; I mean I really did not need a slow-motion Travolta climbing a staircase with a terrified look on his face (I guess he always kind of looks like that) and the very end was laughable, but the other 90% is a great, solid, action thriller and has easily jumped into my top four De Palma films. Beautiful Criterion blu-ray by the way if you get a chance to watch it that way.
