Len Fearnside’s review:
I didn't hate it, but sadly I didn't love it like I hoped I would. I found the film surprisingly boring and while there were things I liked a lot (Selina Kyle/Anne Hathaway, the city street set piece/fist fights) there were just not enough of them and at the end it felt quite forgettable.
So many of the characters I love were removed from the world, or were reduced to insignificant roles, for large sections of the film and it took me out of it. Bane lacked the charisma of the Joker and he was not enough to keep my attention when those others were off screen and while I really enjoyed one of the set pieces, there many others that felt pretty bland or derivative (perhaps I set the bar too high).
I'll have to give it another shot at some point, but as it stand now it just left me feeling 'meh'.
I agree completely with your review. Didn't hate it or love it. It has some problems for sure, mostly in the second half.
Oh snap Rick: www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/scientology-master-paul-thomas-anderson-september-355453?
Yeah... TIFF scores again!
Very tempted to quit my job so I can come out to TIFF for the two weeks. It's so unfair.
Bastard! The last thing I heard was that they were considering NY. Damn lol. But hey, moved up a month, I'll take it

So lucky so lucky so lucky
Damn, lucky bastards! Wish I could get into a secret première. :/
How about a surprise trailer? Bah!
Went to see Beasts of the Southern Wild and I got caught with The Master trailer :( Closed my eyes and ignored it the best I could.
Oh man, I hate that. Happened to me with the Looper trailer a few weeks ago. So annoying and it's why I always leave my earbuds in until the film actually starts.
Yesterday we went to see Celeste and Jess Forever. Should have been safe, right? Wrong. Sandwiched between "For a Good Time, Call..." and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" was The Master. And what was after Perks? The Master AGAIN! Like a sick fucking joke
