The Impossible 2012
This movie is painful to watch. I hated every second of it, but I loved every second of it. The movie depicts the heartbreaking story of one family amongst many other who got hit by a tsunami. It instantly makes you question yourself: how would I behave if suddenly I lost everything and didn't know if my family was even alive?
We discover that through these rough times, people are willing to give up their life to try to save…

Cloud Atlas 2012
I'm not sure I understand the connection between each sections of the movies, but I think each story brought something that could stand on its own and was different than what we usually see in movies. Editing plays a good role: by cutting each stories at specific moments, then assembling those with the next we can see the characters evolve and change, but we can also draw parallels from one story to another.
