    Hush 2016

    ★★ Watched 06 Apr, 2016

The premise of the movie is interesting: what happens when someone's trying to get into your house to kill you, but you're deaf and mute. In reality though, movies with almost no dialogue aren't that fun to watch. The movie lacks depth. Why is this happening to her? What's the end goal of the bad guy? Why is she living alone in the woods? Overall, I applaud the movie for taking a risk and doing something different, even if the outcome wasn't that successful.

    The Intern 2015

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I surprisingly really liked this movie. Yes it's predictable, yes it's cheesy at times, but there's also a lot of great things in it. First, a successful female CEO that is relatable. The issues of work vs family, getting replaced at a job you love, finding friendship in unexpected places are all things we've experienced but that are rarely portrayed in movies. On top of that, the way they depict startups is exactly spot on. Despite its flaws (the theft scene), this is a fun movie that breathes new life into a genre that is a little tired.

I love that Mad Max exists. In many ways, this film is a breath of fresh air in a world where the Avengers formula is applied to every action movie. This film features a great cast of women that can stand their own in a fight. I also love that it's okay with having long stretches when no character says a word. It's not trying to be anything else than what it is: an incredibly well done action movie. And…

    Ant-Man 2015

    ★★★ Watched 02 Jan, 2016

It was an okay superhero movie. What made this one stand out was the fact that an ant isn't particularly strong, so they had to come up with a lot of creative ways to use "being small" to our hero's advantage. Overall, it's a fun movie, but nothing memorable.
