The Dark Knight Rises 2012 ★★★★

Watched Aug 05, 2012

I am just going to say this that it is not one of Nolan's best efforts and on that front i am a but disappointed. On the other hand if you want to make comparison with The Dark Knight which was flawless and a modern masterpiece, it isn't as great or even nearly good. I knew with the reviews it got and the general response that it wasn't great so i went to watch it with that set of mind and wasn't very disappointed.

One of the best Action/Blockbuster/Summer movies of the year or should i say THE BEST! This time it had more action and more effects than TDK which was great but ultimately made it less appealing to me. Some pretty jaw dropping action sequences like the opening sequence or the one towards the end, the climax build up was amazing. Some surprise appearances by previous characters and some big revelations and a few flashbacks made it like a perfect movie to finish off the trilogy and really felt like generic superhero movies. I mean Nolan had to do it, he had to end it like this and for a movie of this sort on this phenomenal spectacle the little mistakes or flaws don't really spoils entire movie and it should be reviewed keeping that in mind.

Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman was amazing, the best supporting performance of the movie in my opinion. She could have been used a bit more but her presence in the movie really lights up the screen plus Anne looked STUNNING! Followed by Mr Michael Cane, our beloved Alfred got much more screen time in this movie and some his earlier scenes with Bruce Wayne are quite lovely and then the emotional bits are equally amazing, he did a superb job. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard were amazing too.

Coming to Mr Bane, well he really was great. Menacing yes but not as psychologically strong or his motives for bringing down Gotham or otherwise were really watered down and ultimately wiped off after the big reveal about him, his past and of the other characters in the movie. A few revelations towards the end (one involving Cotillard's character) is easily seen coming after a few minutes.

Again super action, on another level, Nolan outdid himself here truly. The end was amazing, i had no problems with it and one might get a bit emotional too, i had tears in my eyes and ultimately clapped with fellow audience member at that one signature scene involving Alfred.

You know forget everyone, if you aren't a Nolan or Nolan's Batman fan even then go and watch it for what it is. Its 100 times superior to all the mindless summer blockbusters!
