Khef’s review:
Sound of My Voice is a pretty quiet film, being meditation and tension its strongest attributes. The acting is decent, so is the script. In my opinion, I can say this sci-fi story focuses on teaching the viewer the meaning of faith, but sometimes it lacks of conclusions, it leaves things incomplete. Despite the abrupt ending, it had my attention throughout the whole film, and I found it very interesting.
I agree. The ending killed the film for me. It could have been so great, but left way too many questions open.
But Marling was absolutely great. The way she handled that scene where she tried to get the guy to throw up was really intense.
Yes, Marling was terrific. I agree, that scene was one the best if not the best.
