The Constant Gardener 2005

kierstenlawson’s review:
John le Carre said his novel was "tame as a holiday postcard" compared to what he saw in the pharmaceutical industry during research on his novel. Um, fuck! Fernando Meirelles' direction brings to the film adaptation the smart energy and swift camera intimacy that made "Children of God" such a irresistible punch in the chest. I found this a rare example of a gripping thriller perfectly interconnected with a difficult political truth. I should finally read some le Carre.
