Robb Jayne’s review:
Penniless, Baron Frankenstein, accompanied by his eager assistant Hans, arrives at his family castle near the town of Karlstaad, vowing to continue his experiments in the creation of life.
This is a 'reboot' made solely, I assume, because Hammer were able to make a Frankenstein movie featuring the classic Universal Monster make-up. It is rather poor, Peter Cushing's Baron Frankenstein is not the same brilliant but manic man we know & has been softened far too much around the edges, the evil hypnotist Zolton features in a plot lifted straight from 'The Cabin of Dr. Caligari' but is not much fun & the movie fails to really deliver the unpredictable Frankenstein experience the previous efforts did.
