  • Star Trek Into Darkness 2013

    ★★½ Watched 19 May, 2013

Dull and noisy. Incoherent plot and an ineffective Khan suffocate this film. The strength of the reboot was the casting and resulting chemistry. Unfortunately, that cast interaction is an afterthought.

  • Prometheus 2012

    ★★★★½ Rewatched 11 Sep, 2012 2

"Prometheus" still amazes on its second viewing. This is a visionary, science fiction film for adults with triple digit I.Q.s. The opening sequence is one of the most beautifully crafted scenes I have ever seen. This is a bold film that does not adhere to the trappings of a standard Hollywood summer release. It asks questions about who we are and what we are doing. About God. About Darwin. About faith. And by leaving a lot of these questions unanswered,…
