Raiders of the Lost Ark 1981
Still almost perfect adventure!
-
Iron Man 2 2010
I still don't get the criticisms for this movie - yes, it is the "more everything" sequel to the brilliant original, but the movie entertains perfectly. Fuck the haters.

Killing Them Softly 2012
I hope Weinstein ninjas won't kill me for this, but the movie is actually a very good, dirty and brutal look at America, it's economy and politics (and what makes americans tick!) through the lens of small-time gangsters.
A must for Andrew Dominic fans, and, probably, almost everyone else (but don't get fooled by the trailer).

The Great Gatsby 2013
Again, I don't get the haters - yes, the movie is all over the place at times, but this is Baz Luhrmann and it's nothing new for him. Quite the contrary - despite all the buzz (see what I did there?) about three-D, Jay-Z et cetera, this is his most down-to-earth film, classy and classical at the same time. And, despite whatever whoever says, the one to be enjoyed.

Side Effects 2013
Despite loving action and sci-fi cinema, Soderbergh is one of my all-time favourite directors, and with this one he continues to amaze. Laid-back but solid direction, excellent cinematography and great performances (especially from leads Rooney Mara and Jude Law, although I have to spoil it for the ladies that this movie has same amount of Tatum as, for example, "Haywire").
The one thing I can't name is the genre (Drama? Thriller? Mystery? Satire?), but, with Soderberg's frequent genre changes even in space of a single film, I don't think it really matters anymore.
I hope he never retires.

Gangster Squad 2013
Total style over substance, this is the "Untouchables" for the Pokemon generation - stylish, loud and stupid, it's "Zombieland" with gangsters instead of zombies. But so stylish that it almost makes you forget the stupidness. Almost.

Oz: The Great and Powerful 2013
The post-Alice avalanche of fantasy/fairytale movies is in it's full swing now, and here's another juggernaut - poised to match & surpass it's predcessor's success, it not only looks as almost a direct sequel to Burton's movie, but is as sterile as Disney movies go.
Don't get me wrong, it's nice and colorful and overall well done, and the fact that almost all Disney's big-budget tales are helmed by visionary directors (Burton, Stanton, Raimi) certainy helps, in a way - if…

Oblivion 2013
Maybe I was totally in sync with my expectations or my moral levels are just dropping, but I really liked this one despite all it's flaws - major being Mr. Kosinski's total disinterest in human characters, fixation on visuals (they are brilliant, but so are paintings, which are not movies) and the fact that almost everyting in "Oblivion" have been seen previously and somewhere else (and sometimes better).
But I was entertained during the whole movie and (!) it was totally un-spoiled by the trailers - as they say in Tesco, "every little helps".

Men in Black 3 2012
Good news - movie is much better than abysmal part II. Sadly, that is all that there can be said about this typical Hollywood threequel - all key players are visibly tired, and much more than decent script (which isn't actually half-bad) movie lacks simple reason to exist - except selling "Trilogy" DVD sets.
All in all, MIB fans will probably be happy - a few jokes and action bits, decent performance from all key players (and excellent one from makeup guru Rick Baker), hopefully fitting end to the series. But next time, please, spend the budget on ten "Chronicles" or films like that.

Spring Breakers 2013
-
Snow White and the Huntsman 2012
A really cool fantasy movie - dark, brooding, with fantastic visuals and really pushing the limits of PG-13. And, for some strange reason, distinctly related to Snow White tale - the connection is so small that movie would only benefit from severing it altogether.
Still, a cool "dark, realistic" fantasy flick that can be enjoyed by whole family.
-
The Bourne Legacy 2012
By chasing the "Bourne without Bourne" dream makers of the movie succeeded in introducing Jeremy Renner (who is as good as Matt Damon), but forgot to add the rest - movie is too long, too simple, not that much happens and even less is resolved.
Still, a decent, if not good, thriller in Bourne-verse.
