Kris’s review:
Generally speaking, my favorite films tend to be those that center around the complexity of humanity, psychologically, socially, or spiritually. This movie manages to hit all three blissfully. It's the first Francis Ford Coppola film I have ever seen and is now officially one of my favorite films. I tend to shy away from war films but I think that, since I watched it in a class, I was able to see beyond the Vietnam War as the subject and really look at each of the characters. Also, reading Heart of Darkness along with it helps to comprehend some of the imperialistic topics touched in the film as well. I need buy this for my film collection now.
