This is really better than it has any right to be. It's a over-wrought melodramatic goth-romantic revenge action tale, whose making was complicated by the death of the lead actor. But capable director Alex Proyas salvages this film and not only makes it watchable, but it's actually a little badass. Great 90's soundtrack too.
