The Incredibles 2004

Laurel Hechanova’s review:
Brad Bird wanted to do a 1960s super hero story and The Incredibles is exactly a 1960s Brad Bird-style super hero movie. The story gets a little hokey, but I want to let that slide here since, really, how much cheesiness can (or should) one avoid when one's protagonists are a 60s suburban family of superhumans wearing primary-colored, body-tight spandex?
The story and characters here are more fully realized than in the majority of this movie's live-action counterparts and its pacing is more masterful. Nods to comic nerds are clever without being too esoteric, and the art stays classy all the way through.
