When even non-scifi lovers laud one of the geekiest tales of space adventures in the (comic) books, expectations fall into one of two categories: Super commercialized or actually really good. J.J. Abrams did a fucking fantastic job designing the future and now that better be what London looks like in 2259 otherwise I'm going to be severely disappointed. Visually, Star Trek is stunning, and the cinematography was almost 2001-esque at times, which is automatic plus points.
