Jack Singleton’s review:
I'm a huge fan of Hirohazu Koreeda's work, and 'After Life' is a thought-provoking and inventive piece of story-telling and cinematic structure. While the romantic drama between the main two characters doesn't really pan out into anything particularly memorable or decisive, Koreeda's exploration into the concept of memory and death is a delightful and intricate one. Semi-reverting to his documentary style of filming, 'After Life' manages to frame the complex narratives and realities of both cherished and forgotten memories into a magical and charming piece of cinema.
