I don't read nor have I ever read any non-Archie comic books when I was a kid. I do get the whole superhero thing though. What I can't figure out for the life of me is how this Captain America (I can't even say the name without rolling my eyes) ever sold comic books. Now I haven't read anything about this film or the comics, so I don't know if they were well received, but if the comics were anything like the movie... Oops. Almost fell asleep just thinking about it.
The first bit of the film was slow but I enjoyed it and thought that maybe this film would amount to something. Then he got all big and beefy (by the way, is that Stark from Iron Man who works in the lab?) and that was ok. But when he donned the outfit and did the song and dance routine I couldn't believe my eyes. Seriously. How in the hell did that work out in comic books? Did kids really look up to this guy? Anyway, after that crazy interlude, he gets on with the real task at hand which is something or other with lots of predictable action and so forth. I totally forget what the story was, and I saw it last night, so there you go.
